We left home about 8.30 on Saturday morning, the traffic was light and the weather good.We came off the motorway and drove through the Peak District National Park, wow what fantastic scenery – well worth the extra time it took.
We arrived about 12.30 and saw some old friends, Mick and Jen on NB Bass, so we went and said hello. We got introduced to a few others but as we are both the wrong side (or the right side depending on how you look at it) of 50 we can’t remember names of people or boats – they may come to us later :o)
After lunch we went off to find our B & B and were shown our room, we had a balcony and the view over the valley was just superb.
We went back to Buggie in the evening and had a meal in the Navigation Inn then up to the village hall for the evening’s entertainment by Day Star Theatre Group. Some people dressed up in keeping with the shows theme, as usual there were some excellent costumes.
Sunday we woke up to rain and a heavy mist – no view this morning L.We went off back to Buggie Basin for the engine judging, as it was raining quite heavily at this point I let Mike do the wondering around looking at all the engine rooms while I sat and read in the car.We had coffee with Jen and Mick then went for some lunch. The afternoon was for cake judging (ladies) and biscuit making (fellers), some excellent results. The raffle was also drawn and there were loads of prizes, Mike won a Castrol 1 pt jug and also a Castrol baseball cap (came in very useful on the boat the following week).
Back to the B & B to clean up and change then to the village hall for a takeaway meal and to say our goodbye to old and new friends.

On 27th April I manage to break the camshaft of my Petter PJ3W engine. If anyone has any links or ideas of whereabouts of a second-hand (Or new) camshaft for a PJ3 or PJ3W Please let me know. If I have to buy a complete engine I will, depending on price-well, lets see what turns up. Until I get that part my boat is going nowhere!
I have managed to find a Petter camshaft. Its another boat owner and collector of Petter engines. I will be driving up to the Midlands 17th May to collect it - WRONG ONE It was for a reverse engine
24th May. I have located another one. But its in an engine! And the engine is in Belgium!. Rotation is OK though so I have sent off my passport to be renewed and as soon as it comes back - I'll drive over and pick it up :-)
