On Sunday 8th June I drove to a small village in Belgium to collect yet another Petter PJ3 air-cooled engine. It had been used by Willi Devenyns  with a water pump to irrigate his crops. He and his son Stephane spent a couple of hours helping me load it into my Van. So I have finally got a camshaft that I can use in my PJ3W engine. I am busy with battening and insulation at the moment so I won't get the engine rebuilt for a while yet.

I have also, since Easter this year been building a workshop at the rear of Julie's (Our) flat. I constructed it from scratch but it was much easier than building the boat. I have finally (After 8 years) got a final resting place for my metal working lathe. I will need it again soon to machine the parts I need for engine control - gear changing and speed control. I have never been trained to use a lathe so I intend to enrol on an evening class at TVU Reading to acquire the necessary skills. I have designed the parts I need but have to make sure that it is possible to make what I envisage.
